Chinese 'spy' balloons destroyed

According to a BBC report, the Chinese balloon came to the attention of the US a few days ago when it was in the sky. Since then US President Joe Biden is under pressure to destroy it. Eventually it was destroyed. Debris from the balloon landed in US waters in the Atlantic Ocean.

Three airports near the coast in North and South Carolina were closed while the balloon was destroyed. A video later released to the media showed a balloon falling from the sky after a small explosion.

According to a Pentagon statement, Biden approved the plan to destroy the balloon last Wednesday. Although he said that doing so should not put the life of any American citizen at risk. And before destroying the balloon on Saturday, Biden said in response to questions from reporters, "He'll handle it."

Meanwhile, the ongoing tension between Washington and Beijing regarding the 'balloon incident' has further increased. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken canceled his visit to China because of the incident. Last Friday, he told former Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that the incursion of Chinese balloons was an irresponsible act. This is a clear violation of US sovereignty and against international law.

However, Beijing has expressed regret about this. A statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the balloon was originally launched to observe the weather. But instead of going on a particular route, she went to America. Beijing regrets that the balloon accidentally flew into the country's airspace.
